About the role
dnata Airport Services Australia is a ground handling business that supports airlines and airport operators across Australia, with operations spanning ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering across five continents. The company is looking for a Rostering Clerk to join the Melbourne Passenger Services Operation and work closely with the Passenger Service Department to make sure the right number of staff are scheduled for each shift.
Key duties
- Review aircraft loads and prepare rosters and worksheets in line with airline service level agreements.
- Manage annual leave requests.
- Apply existing rostering patterns and build new ones in accordance with EBA conditions.
- Process and keep updated any changes to schedules.
- Prepare an accurate worksheet for the SDS to use during shifts.
- Be open to training and working with new systems introduced into the business.
- Help plan and track staff allocation for training.
- Safeguard staff and business information and maintain confidentiality.
- Work within defined budgets and produce detailed analytical reports.
- Understand EBA and labour compliance requirements, including relevant government and statutory obligations.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders so compliance and budget requirements are well understood and practical plans can be put in place.

Selection criteria
- Prior experience in rostering.
- Good understanding of business operations, including Service Level Agreements and interpretation of Enterprise Agreements.
- Competent computer skills, especially with MS Word and Excel.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Proactive approach with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to work well within a small team.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Capacity to work independently and follow established procedures.
