About the role

Uniting Wontama in Orange, NSW is looking for a Workforce Officer focused on roster scheduling to help keep its residential aged care operations running effectively. In this role, you will work alongside the Workforce Coordinator to manage rostering, workforce administration, and payroll-related support so the care team can continue delivering high-quality service.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining rosters that are accurate, compliant, and easy to access. The role also involves reviewing workforce information and producing timely reports on key rostering measures to support good decision-making.

This position contributes to Uniting’s person-centred approach by supporting staff, residents, and families through professional, efficient, and confidential rostering practices.

Role details

  • Clerical Administration Grade 4 (Indirect)
  • Full-time or part-time options are available
  • Monday to Friday schedule
  • Onsite role based at Uniting Wontama, Orange, NSW

Key responsibilities

  • Handle daily rostering for about 180 employees, including amendments, updates, and compliance checks
  • Prepare roster reports and assist with payroll administration
  • Partner with the Workforce Coordinator to keep rosters current and available
  • Answer internal and external queries, including questions from staff and residents’ families
  • Arrange meetings and training sessions, and record minutes when needed
  • Accurately process invoices within required timeframes
  • Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and adherence to organisational policies and legal requirements
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with people from a wide range of backgrounds

Qualifications and experience

This position is usually suited to someone with a Certificate III in Business Administration, Customer Service, or equivalent experience in rostering.

  • Demonstrated rostering experience supporting 100 or more staff members is essential
  • Background in payroll support and workforce reporting
  • Strong computer capability, including CRM platforms, rostering systems, and Work Smart Dynamics, is highly regarded
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with strong customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Well-developed organisational and time management abilities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and the Office suite
  • Ability to solve problems, negotiate, and balance competing priorities
