Role overview
Uniting Goonellabah is hiring an experienced kitchenhand or catering assistant to support hotel services within its aged care home. The role is focused on helping deliver daily food service operations and contributing to the wellbeing, dignity, and comfort of older residents.

About the location
The site is in the scenic Goonellabah township, close to natural surroundings. The home includes four separate households, each accommodating up to 20 residents. A homemaker model is used to help create a lively, connected, and meaningful community environment.
What you’ll do
You will support resident care by assisting with catering and hotel services, helping ensure meals and daily service are delivered with attention to quality, safety, and comfort. Your work will directly contribute to a positive everyday experience for residents.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, either 6:00 am to 2:00 pm or 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Weekend work may be available if you are interested.
Experience and qualification preferences
- A Certificate III in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification is preferred, but not essential.
- At least 3 months of experience in hospitality or food service is required, including catering, cooking, or kitchenhand work.
- Training will be provided, but you should already have a solid grasp of the basics.
- You should understand safe food handling and enjoy preparing nutritious, high-quality meals.
- Experience in aged care or community care is considered an advantage.
