About the role

Mantra South Bank is situated in Brisbane’s lively South Bank precinct in West End, Queensland. The property features hotel rooms, studios, and one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with OVELLO Bar & Kitchen, which serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu. The surrounding area offers easy access to restaurants, parklands, Streets Beach, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Museum, and other leisure and entertainment attractions.

Purpose

As a Room Attendant, you will be an important part of the Housekeeping team, helping create an outstanding guest experience through spotless rooms and careful attention to detail. The role involves more than cleaning; it also includes working closely with teammates and assisting guests when required. Your contribution helps ensure visitors enjoy a memorable and welcoming stay.

Primary responsibilities

• Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including replacing linens, sanitising bathrooms, and wiping all surfaces so each room makes an excellent first impression.
• Carry out daily tasks in line with the property’s housekeeping standards and procedures.
• Keep housekeeping trolleys stocked, tidy, and ready for use.
• Handle cleaning products responsibly and follow all safety practices to maintain a safe workplace.
• Protect guest privacy and security at all times.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns promptly to support a smooth guest experience.

Skills and experience

Experience working as a cleaner or room attendant is advantageous. The role calls for a friendly and professional communication style, strong attention to detail, efficient work habits, good time management, and pride in delivering quality results. Because this is a physically active position, you should be comfortable moving between rooms and using internal and external stairways and open walkways. Teamwork with colleagues from different backgrounds is important, and you must be available for varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays, with reliable transport to get to work.
