About the Role

Hotel Equities, recognized for excellence in hotel development and management, seeks a qualified Room Attendant for Stoneridge Mountain Resort in Canmore, Alberta. Starting pay is $19.05 per hour. This role involves cleaning and preparing guest rooms and public areas to meet high cleanliness standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and reinforcing their confidence in choosing our accommodations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and organize supplies from storage to properly stock the cleaning cart, maintaining orderliness for efficient workflow.
• Clean and wipe down windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures throughout rooms, hallways, and public zones, including hard-to-reach spots using ladders or stools.
• Sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, including shower walls, tubs, toilets, mirrors, sinks, and exposed pipes to maintain hygiene standards.
• Replenish towels, soaps, amenities, and replace torn or missing literature to ensure all guest needs are met.
• Manually clean all hard floor surfaces such as linoleum and tile to eliminate dirt and stains.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and wall decorations, including vents and ceiling corners to remove dust and cobwebs.
• Strip and remake beds with clean linens; inspect bedding and mattresses for cleanliness, replacing any soiled items.
• Clean closets thoroughly and restock supplies like hangers, extra blankets, and pillows.
• Vacuum carpets in rooms, public areas, and hallways, moving furniture as needed to reach all carpeted surfaces.
• Inspect door and window locks, reporting any security issues immediately to management to ensure guest safety.
• Test all room equipment such as TVs, lights, faucets, and radios, notifying executive housekeeping of maintenance needs in writing.
• Safeguard hotel property by securing equipment, keys, and supplies at all times.
• Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous attitude consistently.
• Carry out additional related duties as assigned by management.
• Assist laundry operations by sorting, operating industrial washers/dryers, folding, and distributing linens.
• Clean balcony and patio areas, including sweeping, hosing floors, wiping furniture, and picking up trash.
• Support other departments as needed to enhance overall hotel performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Basic understanding of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment usage.
• Ability to detect small dirt particles in low light and interpret written instructions and computer outputs.
• Physical strength to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly during an 8-hour shift and maneuver heavy cleaning carts.
• Manual dexterity to operate cleaning tools and move furniture for extended periods.
• Capability to work with arms elevated above head for long durations.
• Experience working with vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, carpet cleaning machines, and commercial laundry equipment.
• Comfort with exposure to cleaning chemicals and physically demanding tasks in varying indoor climates.
