About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Roofer to join our team at Places for People, one of the UK's leading housing providers and recognized among the Top 50 Best Workplaces in the country. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform roofing repairs on domestic properties, including pitched and flat roofs
  • Carry out tasks such as tile replacement, mortar application, and general roof upkeep
  • Work according to specifications, repair reports, and requirements
  • Handle general building repairs related to roofing activities
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and work specifications
  • Coordinate with supervisors, schedulers, and broader teams to fulfill deadlines
  • Document work carried out and complete necessary paperwork
  • Assist apprentices and contribute positively to team performance metrics and KPIs

Typical Working Day

  • Follow a managed schedule to complete repairs and maintenance
  • Travel between different job sites using the company van
  • Work independently or collaborate with other trade professionals
  • Directly engage with customers inside their homes
  • Maintain efficiency without compromising quality or compliance

Work Environment

  • Work at occupied residential homes
  • Attend vacant (void) properties
  • Operate across various domestic property types within your local vicinity
  • Engage with environments that may involve vulnerable customers

Essential Criteria

  • Possess NVQ Level 2, City and Guilds certification in Roofing, or demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in performing roofing repairs for domestic or social housing properties
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines while delivering high-quality standards
  • Hold a valid full UK driving licence
  • Reside within the BS postcode area as the position services this patch

Desirable but Not Required

  • Experience with general building repairs
  • Multiskilled experience across various trades
