Job description
Company Overview
Vector Operations Solutions Ltd is a professional training services provider that delivers specialist operational, training, and advisory support to clients. Its approach centres on realism and relevance, with training built around the client’s location, people, and workflows so that the learning experience produces genuine capability.
Role Summary
Role-players and Language/Culture Presenters help create realistic training environments by taking on different characters and bringing relevant language and cultural context into operational scenarios. This position is based in Wellington and includes some flexibility to work from home.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will prepare scenario materials, review scripts or briefing notes, and work with facilitators to make sure cultural and linguistic details are represented accurately. Your work will involve supporting live exercises, workshops, and simulations, offering input on scenario design, and adjusting role-play delivery to suit participant needs and learning goals. You will also maintain a professional approach, follow safety and confidentiality requirements, and contribute to debrief sessions that help refine future training activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have strong communication skills, including clear spoken English and confidence presenting to groups. A high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity is important, along with the ability to portray specific cultural settings respectfully and accurately. Comfort with performance, acting, or role-play in training, educational, or community environments is valuable.
You should be able to follow scripts and scenario guidance while still improvising appropriately within defined limits. Good interpersonal skills are essential, including reliability, teamwork, and the ability to take direction from facilitators and coordinators. Strong organisation is also needed to manage schedules, prepare materials ahead of time, and adapt to changing training needs.
Experience in education, training, community engagement, or similar areas is an advantage. Fluency or proficiency in additional languages, particularly those useful to client requirements, is also beneficial. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid setup, attending in-person activities in Wellington while completing some preparation and follow-up work from home.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time onsite role with hybrid flexibility for some work-from-home tasks.
