Role overview
RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to support motorists across the Walsall area and nearby locations. The role is part of the Patrol team and focuses on delivering fast, confident roadside assistance, vehicle diagnosis, and mechanical repair when members experience breakdowns.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, varied call-outs, and solving problems under pressure while maintaining a strong customer service approach. You will begin and finish your day from home, using a locally planned route structure to serve members in your assigned patch.
Working area and schedule
You will be based in the Walsall cluster, covering areas including Walsall, Aldridge, Brownhills, Cannock, Lichfield, Burntwood, and Sutton Coldfield. Shifts are demand-led and average 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available. The job is designed so you can start and end at your driveway.
Pay and support
The package includes a base salary of £36,400 and a realistic on-target earnings figure of £61,000. High performers may earn more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates. RAC also provides a van, fuel card, uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic equipment from day one.

Requirements
