Job description
Role Overview
Join RAC as a Roadside Technician serving the Swindon cluster including areas such as Royal Wootton Bassett, Marlborough, Cirencester, and Chippenham (west). This role plays a vital part in keeping the UK moving by delivering expert roadside mechanical repairs and breakdown assistance. You will start and finish your shifts from home, working typically around 40 hours per week with opportunities for extra overtime.
Key Responsibilities
As a Roadside Technician, you will provide expert roadside repairs and diagnostics including flat battery replacements, tyre changes, and more complicated mechanical fault-finding. You will consistently offer confident, efficient, and reassuring service to members in emergency breakdown situations, utilizing your technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess either a Level 2 NVQ in Light Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification paired with at least 2 years’ professional experience, or alternatively have accumulated over 5 years of experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic.
- Hold a UK full driving license with fewer than 6 penalty points.
Support and Equipment
RAC will equip you comprehensively, providing your own van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic equipment from day one to ensure you are fully prepared for each assignment.
