About the Role
Join The AA as a Roadside Rescue Mechanic in Brighton, where you will be the dependable face of the UK’s largest motoring organisation, assisting members anytime, anywhere, and in any weather. Your technical expertise and customer service will help drivers get back on the road promptly and safely, making you a trusted hero in unexpected situations.
Responsibilities
- Commence and conclude your shifts from your own driveway, with time paid from van departure until return.
- Operate independently across diverse locations and conditions, while remaining connected to a supportive team environment.
- Leverage technical skills and clear communication to ensure excellent customer experiences.
- Tackle a broad range of roadside issues calmly and competently on-site.
Qualifications and Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent certification supported by relevant experience.
- Full category B driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Ability and eagerness to embrace new technology provided to perform your duties effectively.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, recognizing that vehicle breakdowns can occur anytime.
Work Schedule and Compensation
You will typically work an average of 40 hours per week, choosing from multiple shift pattern options to balance personal and professional commitments. Rest days and shift lengths depend on your selected schedule. The guaranteed first-year earnings total £39,429 inclusive of location allowance with potential OTE up to £60,000 for top performers.
