Role Overview

We are searching for a skilled Risk Specialist responsible for managing the risk frameworks within the company. This role involves ensuring adherence to both regulatory standards and internal policies by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks. The specialist will coordinate risk management activities organization-wide, supporting all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement risk identification, evaluation, and monitoring methods concerning operational and market risks.
• Examine business processes across units to uncover possible risk exposures and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Contribute in designing, testing, and enhancing internal risk control systems.
• Aggregate and interpret key risk indicator data, producing regular and special reports for management review.
• Evaluate risks tied to new offerings and business ventures before launch, delivering guidance to involved parties.
• Assist in developing and updating the company’s risk map, Risk Appetite Statement, and relevant documentation.
• Supervise risk limits, reporting any breaches or emerging trends to leadership promptly.
• Oversee market risk linked to transactions on domestic and global exchanges, aligning with international exchange regulations and conduct norms.
• Guarantee compliance with Azerbaijani regulatory requirements from the Central Bank, FIMSA, and other legislation.
• Stay informed on local and international regulatory changes and risk management standards, implementing necessary updates within the company.
• Promote risk awareness and culture through employee training and communication initiatives.
• Conduct continuous compliance checks against the company’s Risk Management policy and applicable regulations.
• Collaborate across departments to investigate and resolve risk incidents or control deficiencies.
• Participate in periodic revisions of risk policies and procedures to reflect legal and regulatory developments.
• Immediately report irregularities, incidents, or potential risk concerns identified during daily activities.
• Support the department’s semi-annual and annual risk management goals.

Qualifications and Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or Economics is preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or similar fields; banking or financial sector experience is advantageous.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English is desirable.
• Certifications such as FRM or CFA are beneficial.
• Advanced skills in MS Office, MS Visio, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and management techniques.
• Familiarity with local and global risk standards and frameworks such as Basel principles, COSO ERM, and ISO 31000.
