Role overview
The Irish Red Cross is seeking a Risk and Policy Officer to join its development and administrative team in Dublin. This is a 24-month fixed-term, full-time position reporting to the Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs. The role sits within the compliance function and focuses on keeping risk management, internal audit, and policy review activities organised and centrally monitored.

What the role involves
This position supports risk management, policy control, and internal audit processes. It also includes administrative support for the Society’s Audit and Risk Committee. The successful candidate will be well organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working across multiple workstreams. Full training will be provided.
Key duties
- Keep the organisation’s records and document base current across risk management, policies and procedures, and internal audit.
- Act as an administrator for RedFlare, the organisation’s online risk management platform.
- Support the Audit and Risk Committee, including preparing committee packs and drafting meeting minutes.
- Help implement the organisation’s risk management plan.
- Prepare scoping material and draft tender requests for internal audit projects.
- Assist with delivery of the internal audit plan.
- Serve as an initial point of contact for internal audit stakeholders and people involved in risk action items.
- Support compliance work connected to frontline operations, including both volunteer-led and staff-led initiatives.
- Contribute to the achievement of Irish Red Cross objectives.
- Undertake training and professional development as needed.
- Follow and promote the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the line manager that fit the nature and level of the post.
Terms and working conditions
The contract runs for 24 months on a full-time basis. The salary range is €39,500 to €41,000, depending on experience. The post is based on a 35-hour working week and may involve occasional evening and weekend work. Applicants must have the right to work in Ireland. Interviews are scheduled for 29 and 30 June 2026.
