Position overview
The Retail Specialist supports Chiquita’s product execution across a defined geographic area at assigned customer stores. This role focuses on improving in-store presence through display execution, store-level marketing support, shelf-space optimization, and adoption of best practices. The position also oversees in-store resources and performance outcomes, while helping identify and shape training needs for customer store staff. The role works closely with divisional and store produce management.
Operational execution
- Oversee and verify retail execution inside stores.
- Partner with sales and supply chain teams to set monthly retail priorities.
- Share priorities with customers and perform store audits to track and improve execution quality.
- Monitor scorecard results using information from several sources, then provide performance updates both internally and externally.
- Create approaches that make the best use of Chiquita and customer resources for store-specific initiatives.
Analytical responsibilities
- Use exception-based analysis to evaluate customer performance, support sales growth, and strengthen in-stock conditions.
- Assist the Chiquita Retail Customer Manager with assigned analytical work.
- Support monthly ad tracking and promotional analysis.
- Partner with Chiquita and customer management on stores with compliance challenges and define success measures.
Account penetration
- Build working relationships across multiple levels of the customer produce organization as part of a broad account-penetration approach.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in consumer products or retail-related work.
- Availability for a flexible schedule and approximately 70% travel.
- Field-based in-store support experience is preferred.
- Strong relationship-building and customer service abilities.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with initiative, sound judgment, and strong planning and organizing capability.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Comfort using computer systems and applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to respond effectively to direction from multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to create positive customer experiences in varied settings and enjoy frequent interpersonal interaction.
Physical environment
This role regularly involves walking, standing, and sitting. Most work takes place in a temperature-controlled office setting, though extended periods at a desk or computer terminal may be required. Daily tasks may include use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other standard office tools. The job may also require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching.

Employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test in line with Florida Statute 440.102.
