Role Overview
The Sales Manager acts as a strong representative of the brand and is responsible for leading the team, developing client relationships, and driving sales performance. This position focuses on building a high-energy selling environment while making sure customers receive a consistently excellent level of service.
Sales Focus
- Deliver agreed sales targets and support the department in meeting budget expectations.
- Build a service-led culture that keeps customer needs at the centre and helps the store exceed expectations.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the host store and concession partners.
- Use initiative and sound judgement to improve commercial results and overall business performance.
- Review brand performance regularly and use insights to make better business decisions.
- Help shape department growth in response to customer demand and business opportunities.
- Plan staffing effectively to maintain strong floor coverage during core trading hours.
- Ensure the team always meets presentation standards and follows model store guidelines.
Service Responsibilities
- Foster a customer-first environment and coach the team to build new client relationships while strengthening existing ones.
- Track test shop outcomes, CRM activity, and service action plans to ensure company service standards are consistently achieved.
- Promote a strong client-focused mindset so relationships are actively maintained and client books are well managed.
People Leadership
- Work with the General Manager to recruit new team members in line with Kurt Geiger recruitment policy.
- Make sure company and host-store policies are clearly communicated, understood, and followed.
- Invest time in developing team capability so individuals can perform to the best of their ability.
- Maintain constructive relationships with colleagues and the Group General Manager.
- Encourage unity and a positive working atmosphere across the floor every day.
- Communicate KPIs clearly and monitor performance through regular reviews while demonstrating effective leadership.
Operations
- Ensure company and host-store procedures are followed and passed on correctly to the team.
- Own the daily hygiene routine and make sure it is completed properly.
- Confirm that opening and closing checks are completed every day.
- Maintain a clear understanding of back-of-house and stockroom standards and operations.
KPIs and Performance Targets
- Meet sales targets aligned with company goals.
- Deliver host-store and company targets for sales, mystery shopper results, and productivity.
- Achieve retention and labour turnover objectives.
- Support payroll control targets.
- Keep audit results at +/- 0.3% or better.
- Meet event sales targets as a percentage of revenue.
- Achieve or exceed the 10% target for client book sales.
Requirements
- Currently employed at senior manager level in a high-turnover business.
- Experienced in managing large teams.
- Strong background in P&L responsibility and improving bottom-line contribution.
- Demonstrated ability to improve performance through people leadership.
- Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience in fashion-forward footwear, accessories, or fashion retail; luxury exposure is preferred.
- A professional presence that reflects a luxury, fashion-led brand.
