Role Overview

As a Retail Sales Executive at Baker By Chance in Delhi-NCR, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service, managing store operations, and driving sales performance. This role demands professionalism, focus on hygiene, and teamwork to ensure a welcoming and efficient retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and assist customers, responding to inquiries with precise product knowledge.
  • Manage cash transactions accurately, operate the cash register, and issue GST-compliant bills following cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain inventory through stock receipt, daily cycle counts, and addressing shortages or damages while adhering to FIFO/FEFO for perishables to reduce waste.
  • Organize merchandise displays attractively and restock shelves, ensuring planograms and visual merchandising standards are upheld.
  • Promote special sales offers and recommend additional products to increase customer purchase value.
  • Ensure the store environment is clean, orderly, and complies with food safety standards such as FSSAI, HACCP, and FSMS protocols.
  • Support operational readiness through completing opening and closing checklists and coordinating maintenance for equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet sales targets, KPIs, and uphold customer satisfaction including order accuracy and complaint resolution.
  • Participate actively in team briefings, assist in training new staff on SOPs, menu items, and customer service best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum education of 12th grade pass; graduation is desirable.
  • 0 to 2 years experience in café, QSR, or retail environments; fresh candidates with a positive attitude are encouraged to apply.
  • FSSAI Food Handler certification preferred or to be obtained within 30 days of joining.
  • Proficiency in basic English and Hindi, local language skills are beneficial.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent customer service and professional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and using smartphone applications, including delivery platforms.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Reliable, punctual team player with physical stamina to stand long hours and handle moderate lifting.

Physical and Technical Requirements

  • Capability to stand for 6–8 hours and lift items weighing 10–15 kg occasionally.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions within kitchen, storage, and sales floor areas.
  • Experience using POS equipment, espresso machines, grinders, ovens, refrigerators, blenders, and delivery partner tablets where applicable.
  • Accurate completion of checklists, temperature logs, and cleaning schedules.

Performance Indicators

  • Customer satisfaction measured by CSAT/NPS and complaint resolution efficiency.
  • Operational tasks including order accuracy, ticket throughput, and SOP audit scores.
  • Sales targets based on average bill values, conversion of additional product sales, and product mix metrics.
  • Adherence to hygiene standards ensuring zero critical non-compliances and minimizing wastage.
  • Management of cash and inventory shrinkage within acceptable limits.
