Position Overview
The Retail Merchandise Allocator for Women's Ready-to-Wear (WRTW) plays an essential role in ensuring optimal product placement to boost sales, maximize inventory turnover, and enhance overall inventory efficiency. This position involves devising and leading allocation strategies across multiple retail locations or channels, managing inventory flow effectively, and supporting the financial and assortment planning through close cross-departmental collaboration. This role demands a detail-focused, analytical mindset and the capability to perform in a dynamic retail setting while balancing strategic analysis with precise operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement allocation plans that align with business targets relating to sales, sell-through rates, and inventory management at the store or channel level.
- Oversee weekly replenishments and initial product allocations to ensure stock is appropriately distributed by store location, size variants, and style diversity.
- Conduct continuous evaluation of store performance metrics, sales trends, and stock conditions to adapt allocations proactively.
- Support inventory needs related to new store launches, renovations, and events by ensuring timely and adequate stock support.
- Manage purchase order administration across all store locations.
- Enhance inventory productivity through strategic allocation adjustments and proactive inventory rebalancing initiatives.
- Track stock quantities to identify opportunities that maximize full-price sales and limit markdown occurrences.
- Advocate for inventory movements such as transfers, consolidations, and redistributions to increase sales efficiency and lower excess risks.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of store cluster characteristics, space constraints, and sales behaviors to inform optimal allocation decision-making.
- Generate and interpret weekly reports on sales performance, stock health, and the success of allocation strategies, sharing insights with merchandising leadership.
- Collaborate with Distribution and Logistics teams to ensure that inventory adjustments and allocations are executed smoothly and on schedule.
- Act as a knowledgeable user and promoter of allocation tools and methodologies, recommending procedural enhancements for greater process efficiency and transparency.
- Contribute to special projects including market competitive analysis, trend reporting, and preparation of materials for strategic presentations.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of professional experience in merchandising, preferably within the luxury retail sector.
- Proficient organizational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail coupled with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation
This role offers an annual salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 and may include eligibility for additional incentives. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills related to the role.
