Job description
Position Overview
The Retail Designer is responsible for developing interior and exterior environmental signage guidelines tailored for individual store locations, ensuring excellent quality across all design and execution facets. This role significantly influences the visual and experiential aspects for store visitors, driving how the Publix brand manifests within retail stores, corporate offices, and major events. The position ensures consistency and positive visual impressions for both customers and employees across all venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operational duties of the retail environmental design program by executing and validating related tasks, incorporating marketing strategies and guaranteeing brand compliance.
- Create signage installation guides and final mechanical files that align with signage standards, strategic goals, technical accuracy, and aesthetic quality per Publix brand requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an environmental graphics-related discipline such as Interior Design, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience showing competency in this field.
- At least two years of professional experience in environmental graphic design.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
- Comprehensive knowledge of print media and materials used in environmental signage, including flat and dimensional substrates and hardware.
- Understanding of general print production and design processes.
- Awareness of current industry and market trends in environmental graphics.
- Strong decision-making capabilities and creative problem-solving skills.
- Effective planning and evaluation abilities.
- Proficiency in presentation and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of one year as a Retail Design Coordinator or a minimum of three years in environmental graphic design.
- Familiarity with marketing department workflows, project lifecycles, the Publix brand including customer demographics, and overall business goals.
