Job Overview
The Retail Cashier plays a vital role in managing customer billing, payment transactions, and ensuring precise daily sales documentation while delivering outstanding customer experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately process customer bills through the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Manage various payment methods including cash, UPI, and card transactions.
- Maintain the cash register ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Generate detailed daily sales and cash closing reports.
- Verify cash collected and reconcile it with POS sales data.
- Support customers by addressing billing concerns and providing product details.
- Collaborate with the Outlet Manager regarding cash deposits and resolving discrepancies.
- Keep the billing area clean and well organized.
- Encourage customers to participate in ongoing promotions, loyalty programs, and suggest upsell options.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance.
Performance Indicators
- Achieve 100% accuracy in billing.
- Maintain zero cash shortages or surpluses.
- Complete daily cash reconciliations promptly.
- Deliver fast billing processes coupled with excellent customer service.
