Role overview
Zaxbys is hiring a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and operating smoothly. This role focuses on upkeep, basic maintenance, daily cleaning, and deeper cleaning tasks for both the building and equipment.
What the role involves
- Finish the training required by Zax LLC.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
- Carry out routine and occasional cleaning work, along with basic maintenance tasks.
- Clean restaurant equipment regularly and complete preventative maintenance.
- Check equipment, run tests, and identify issues when something is not working properly.
- Handle minor lighting repairs.
- Complete deep-cleaning work, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
- Review equipment manuals and work instructions to carry out tasks correctly.
- Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building to catch maintenance concerns early.
- Make simple repairs when needed.
- Read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure documents.
- Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Work to company standards and follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety practices at work.
- Stay flexible and willing to support duties beyond the core job description when needed.
- Report human resources and risk-related issues right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
- Raise other concerns to the supervisor when appropriate.
- Take on any additional duties needed to keep restaurant operations running properly.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Full-time availability must be 32 to 40 hours per week.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong leadership traits, organization, and the ability to work well with others are expected.
Physical and working conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- May need to stoop, bend, crouch, or climb, including using ladders.
- Should be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Requires steady use of hands and wrists for grasping and detailed tasks.
- Needs strong speaking, reading, and writing ability.
- Must be able to see and respond effectively to the surrounding environment.
- Work may involve both indoor and outdoor areas with hot and cold temperature changes and exposure to food and outdoor allergens.
- Must operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools.
