Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant in a clean, safe, and well-maintained condition. This role supports the upkeep of the building and equipment through regular cleaning, deep-cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance. It is a hands-on position focused on keeping daily operations running smoothly.

What the role involves

• Complete all training required by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly restaurant environment.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and basic maintenance work.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on restaurant equipment.
• Check, operate, and test equipment to identify problems.
• Assist with minor lighting repairs.
• Handle deep-cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Regularly inspect grounds, plumbing, outlets, electrical fixtures, kitchen equipment, and the building for early signs of issues.
• Carry out minor repairs when needed.
• Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Follow all operational standards, company policies, and franchising guidelines.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all required safety procedures.
• Stay flexible and willing to take on tasks beyond the standard job outline when needed.
• Report HR-related and risk-management concerns immediately to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Escalate other issues to the supervisor as appropriate.
• Support any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.

Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• This full-time role requires availability for 32 to 40 hours per week.
• You should be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Leadership ability, strong organization, and a cooperative approach with others are important.

Physical and working conditions

• You should be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
• The job may require bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, and using ladders.
• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds is expected, including overhead lifting.
• Frequent hand and wrist use for gripping and detailed movements is required.
• You must be able to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing.
• The role requires good visual and audio awareness to notice and respond to the surroundings.
• Work may take place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, food allergens, and outdoor allergens.
• You may need to operate restaurant equipment such as knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools or machines.
