Restaurant Utility Worker

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This position focuses on day-to-day upkeep, deep cleaning, and preventive care for the building and equipment.

What the job involves

• Finish all training that Zax LLC requires for the role.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and routine basic maintenance.
• Clean and maintain restaurant equipment on a regular schedule, including preventive upkeep.
• Check equipment, run tests, and identify problems when something is not working correctly.
• Handle minor lighting repairs and similar small fixes.
• Perform thorough cleaning work such as deep cleaning and pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety rules, and operating procedures.
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical outlets and fixtures, kitchen equipment, and the building for issues that can be prevented early.
• Complete basic repairs when needed.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and current maintenance records.
• Follow all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety requirements.
• Stay flexible and be willing to support tasks beyond the usual job scope when needed.
• Report human resources or risk-related issues right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Escalate other concerns to a supervisor when appropriate.
• Take on any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• For full-time availability, the role requires 32 to 40 hours per week.
• A flexible schedule is necessary, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong leadership traits, good organization, and the ability to work well with others are important.

Physical and working conditions

• The role involves sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
• It may require stooping, bending, crouching, climbing, and using ladders at times.
• You must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Frequent hand and wrist use is needed for gripping and detailed tasks.
• You should be able to communicate clearly by speaking, reading, and writing.
• The job requires strong visual and audio awareness to notice and respond to the work environment.
• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, and food-related outdoor allergens.
• You must be able to use restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools or machinery.
