Role overview

This position supports restaurant operations in a luxury hospitality setting in Doha, with responsibility for service quality, team coordination, and day-to-day floor oversight. The role is attached to the Food and Beverage & Culinary function and is classified as a non-management full-time position.

Key responsibilities

The assistant manager is expected to make sure the team works in sync so guests receive smooth, attentive service and their needs are handled promptly. The role includes checking staff grooming and uniforms, correcting any issues, and overseeing opening and closing tasks such as preparing supplies, arranging tools, cleaning the area and equipment, and securing the premises.

Other duties include reviewing storage spaces for orderly arrangement, proper FIFO use, and cleanliness; taking stock counts on schedule; requesting needed supplies; watching dining areas for available seating, service quality, guest safety, and overall comfort; and raising maintenance work requests when repairs are needed.

The position also involves helping with recruitment, onboarding, training, shift planning, performance review, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions. The assistant manager should serve as a trusted first contact for the Fair Treatment/Open Door process, model expected behavior, and encourage and motivate the team.

In addition, the role requires strict compliance with company, safety, and security procedures; reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; completing required safety training and certifications; maintaining a clean and professional appearance; protecting confidential information and company property; greeting guests in line with brand standards; responding to special needs, including support for guests with disabilities; and communicating clearly and professionally with both guests and colleagues.

The job also calls for building positive working relationships, supporting shared team goals, listening to coworkers, following quality standards, and contributing ideas that improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control. Physical requirements include reading small print, visually checking equipment, standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds without help, handling objects of different sizes and weights, working in confined or elevated spaces, using stairs or ramps, and bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed. Other reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role. No certification is required for this position.
