Role overview

The Resource Management (RM) Senior Associate sits within EY Canada’s Resource Management team and supports Consulting. In this role, you will help the Consulting RM Leader and Sub Service Line RM Leads with functional resource management support, capacity planning, deployment, and reporting.

This posting is for an existing opening within the organization. The position is a 14-month contract based onsite in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

What you will do

You will help manage demand and capacity so client-serving professionals are deployed effectively and gain meaningful career experiences. You will also receive day-to-day guidance to help prioritize work appropriately.

  • Assist Consulting RM SSL Leads with complex scheduling and staffing decisions.
  • Review CRM and pipeline information regularly to align available resources with committed work and high-probability opportunities.
  • Run skill and résumé searches to match project needs with relevant capabilities, development goals, and project risk.
  • Help maintain accurate staff and client project schedules.
  • Spot resources that are likely to become available within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Track unassigned professionals and flag them early to reduce idle time.
  • Share significant schedule updates with RM SSL Leads.
  • Keep the Resource Management team informed about staffing status and requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with RM colleagues and respond proactively and creatively to requests.
  • Contribute to ad hoc initiatives such as task forces, reporting, process improvements, training materials, and similar work.
  • Look for opportunities to improve Resource Management processes.
  • Support onboarding for new hires by explaining the Resource Management function and operating model.
  • Partner with the Talent/HR team on performance management initiatives.
  • Support RM enablement tools and programs such as Retain, EYA, EY Discover, and Mercury.
  • Collaborate with peers across the Canadian RM team on priorities, projects, and task forces.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for RM tools and enablers.
  • Help create service line, market, and competency reporting, including utilization performance, forecasts, variance analysis, and capacity analytics.
  • Build reports and pivot tables for deployment data.

Requirements

  • Background in staffing consulting roles or consulting professionals.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Well-developed analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • French language ability is an advantage.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to solve issues quickly and with urgency.
  • Strong problem-solving capability.
  • Comfort adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

EY states that compensation is competitive and tied to performance, experience, education, skills, and internal equity. The salary range provided in the posting applies to Ontario and British Columbia and is listed as $65,600 to $98,400.
