Residential Rental Property Cleaner

Overview

We are partnering with a client seeking a dependable and detail-focused Cleaner to service residential rental properties. Key tasks involve delivering move-in, move-out, rental turnover, and general property-readiness cleaning to support property owners, tenants, and internal teams. The role requires following detailed cleaning checklists, documenting completed work via photos and notes, and identifying any property concerns requiring attention prior to showings or inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend residential rentals for cleaning appointments including move-in, move-out, turnover, and readiness cleaning.
• Perform comprehensive cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, hallways, appliances, floors, surfaces, cabinets, and fixtures adhering to company standards.
• Remove dust, dirt, debris, garbage, and any remaining items as needed.
• Wipe down high-touch areas such as counters, sinks, mirrors, doors, and baseboards.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and clean inside appliances like fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washer, and dryer when required.
• Detect and report areas requiring additional cleaning, maintenance, junk removal, repairs, pest control, or other follow-up.
• Take clear before-and-after photos and videos of the property and cleaning work.
• Accurately report updates, provide notes, images, and communicate professionally with property owners, tenants, prospective tenants, and internal teams after each visit.
• Adhere strictly to company cleaning guidelines, checklists, access protocols, and appointment specifics.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Previous experience in cleaning roles such as cleaner, housekeeper, cleaning contractor, or residential cleaner.
• Good knowledge and practice of residential cleaning standards.
• Reliable personal transportation and necessary cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Comfortable working independently and travelling to multiple residential properties.
• Possess a smartphone similar to an iPhone 13 equipped with a quality camera for clear photo and video documentation.
• Strong communication skills for clear note-taking and professional interactions with all stakeholders.
• Capable of following instructions, checklists, and managing appointment details effectively.
• Professionalism, punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in move-in/move-out or rental turnover cleaning.
• Familiarity with preparing residential rental properties for photos, inspections, and tenant showings.
• Ability to recognize property damages, maintenance issues, junk removal needs, pest problems, or safety concerns.
• Prior experience working independently in field roles within property management, leasing, cleaning, or home services.

Additional Information and Requirements

• This job requires owning and using reliable transportation to travel between properties.
• All cleaning supplies and equipment should be brought to each appointment.
• Strong emphasis on detailed and visual documentation and reporting after each cleaning session.
• Cleaners should report any noted damages, maintenance requirements, unsafe conditions, or access difficulties observed during visits for appropriate follow-up.
