Role Overview
The Residential Life & Operations Manager role is multifaceted, combining community leadership, student wellbeing support, team management, and property operations oversight. This position is vital for fostering an excellent experience for residents by overseeing life programs, supporting wellbeing initiatives, driving occupancy levels, and leading a dedicated onsite team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture a welcoming, inclusive residential community that enables students to succeed socially and academically.
- Lead initiatives related to residential life and community engagement, including wellbeing programs, events, and resident support activities.
- Manage daily operations of a 300-bed residence ensuring compliance, safety, maintenance, and quality service standards.
- Guide, motivate, and advance the capabilities of a small, high-performance team comprising full-time staff and Residential Advisors to achieve excellent resident outcomes.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with students, university representatives, internal departments, and external stakeholders to support occupancy, retention, and operational targets.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven background in student accommodation, higher education, hospitality, residential communities, or comparable service-oriented sectors.
- Deep understanding of student wellbeing, pastoral care, or resident engagement frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership proficiency with the ability to inspire and grow teams.
- Excellent communication abilities, both oral and written.
- Right to work in Australia, possession of a Blue Card, and a valid National Police Check.
