About the Role

Join Carr, an acclaimed architecture and interior design studio, as a Residential Interior Designer based in Brisbane. The studio values curiosity, rigor, and teamwork to deliver exceptional residential interior projects from concept through to final documentation and presentation. Working alongside Senior Interior Designers and project groups, you will help refine design ideas, create documentation, and maintain Carr's standards of design quality and technical precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior staff in advancing conceptual design and spatial planning aligned with Carr's design identity.
  • Develop space layouts, test fits, and schematic design solutions.
  • Conduct research to verify the technical practicality of design concepts and project goals.
  • Create presentations and design documentation supporting various project phases.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender and construction documentation, including drawings and schedules.
  • Build positive partnerships with clients, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to knowledge exchange across the team.
  • Engage in marketing, business development, and promote Carr’s brand.
  • Stay informed about products and materials, ensuring accuracy in Carr’s image and product archive.
  • Assist in improving design systems and processes.
  • Comply with quality control, risk management, and company policies including Carr’s Quality, Safety and Environment System.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in residential interior design with strong conceptual and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to manage full project cycles including presentations, drawings, schedules, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in advanced graphic and 3D design software such as Revit, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and project details accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients and project teams.
  • Early identification of potential issues and delivering solution-focused responses.
  • Adaptability to dynamic project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Client-centered mindset with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Committed to delivering outstanding results within timeframes, budgets, and project scopes.
