About the Role
Join Falkland House School Perth as a Residential Childcare Worker and play a vital role in positively impacting the lives of children and young people with autism and additional support needs. This permanent full-time position involves 38 hours per week with shifts rotating through mornings, afternoons, and double sessions on a three-week schedule. The salary can reach up to £27,831.68 annually depending on experience and qualifications. A full UK manual driving licence is essential, and applicants must be from the UK as sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist children and young people with their day-to-day routines, promote independence, and facilitate personal growth.
- Organize and participate in enjoyable activities during after school hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Encourage community engagement and help develop life skills to boost confidence.
- Create a supportive and secure home-like atmosphere where youngsters feel safe and valued.
- Establish trusting relationships to support emotional well-being and resilience.
- Promote positive behaviour through therapeutic and relational approaches.
- Collaborate closely with education and clinical teams to deliver integrated support.
- Maintain detailed records ensuring care and safeguarding standards are upheld.
Candidate Profile
We seek compassionate, resilient individuals motivated to support young people’s success. Prior experience in residential care, education, or child support is advantageous but not mandatory. Transferable skills from fields such as hospitality, retail, military, outdoor education, customer service, or youth work are valued.
