Role Overview
The Youth Support Worker in Intensive Therapeutic Care holds a pivotal role influencing young lives by delivering direct support across various environments including residential homes, schools, hospitals, community centres, and emergency accommodation. This position is offered on a part-time and casual basis in the Newcastle and surrounding regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing trust-based relationships with young people under care.
- Providing consistent 24-hour support following tailored routines to address individual client needs.
- Administering medications responsibly.
- Facilitating transportation for clients to educational, day programs, and medical appointments.
- Assisting with the deployment of developmental programs for clients.
- Maintaining detailed reports and documentation.

Essential Qualifications and Criteria
- Valid Working with Children Check suitable for paid employment.
- Current NDIS Worker Check.
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid).
- National Police Check via specified employment screening service.
- Driver’s licence (minimum P2 level).
- Access to a vehicle capable of safely transporting four or more passengers.
- Comprehensive car insurance.
- Certificate for completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
- Capability to work a roster that covers all seven days of the week.
- Readiness to undergo pre-employment medical examinations.
- Provision of two professional references.
- Consent to being listed on the Residential Care Worker Register prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Community Services or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or similar discipline.
