Role overview
The Resident Medical Officer will be responsible for patient care across OPD and IPD settings, including emergency stabilization, inpatient monitoring, clinical documentation, and coordination with the wider care team. The role also involves following hospital protocols and working in shifts, including nights when needed.
Responsibilities
- Attend to OPD and IPD patients and deliver suitable medical treatment.
- Evaluate emergency cases and carry out initial stabilization.
- Perform daily ward rounds and keep track of admitted patients’ condition.
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and case notes.
- Work closely with consultants and nursing staff to support treatment planning and execution.
- Provide prescriptions and treatment in line with hospital guidelines.
- Be available for rotational duty schedules, including night shifts if required.
Candidate profile
Applicants should hold an MBBS degree with valid registration from the NMC or State Medical Council. Experience of 2 to 3 years as a Resident Medical Officer or Medical Officer is preferred. The role suits candidates with strong clinical judgment, confidence in emergency situations, and the ability to communicate well and work as part of a team. Prior exposure to ICU, emergency care, or an oncology environment will be an added advantage. Immediate joiners are preferred.
