Job description
Job Summary
This position, based primarily on the university campus with opportunities for hybrid working and flexible arrangements, focuses on delivering excellent, customer-centric pre-award research support within the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences. Candidates must have significant experience in demanding research support or financial office roles, with an emphasis on supporting the Faculty Research Office (FRO) and Principal Investigators in accurate project costing in compliance with university and funders' guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive, professional pre-award research support to the Faculty Research Office.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Research Support Administrator (Pre-Award) and researchers to facilitate precise costing and compliance.
- Navigate and apply University and funders’ rules and regulations effectively.
- Build and maintain strong professional networks within the university research community.
- Deliver services meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high organizational standards.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive prior experience in research finance support roles or similar busy office environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
