Role Overview

Bosch's Singapore R&D team, focused on sustainability, is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to explore AI applications in HVAC engineering and controls. This senior role involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to innovate and commercialize advanced technologies, enhancing Bosch's product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead AI-driven innovation in Urban Solutions and Sustainability, emphasizing AI-enhanced features for user comfort, health, and indoor air quality in HVAC systems.
• Partner with business units on sustainability projects, conducting customer interviews, defining problems, and preparing research proposals to fuel Bosch’s long-term offerings.
• Manage complete AI solution development cycles including data gathering, modeling, feature creation, and user-centric function design.
• Design and perform experiments to validate concepts and build prototypes showcasing quantifiable improvements.
• Collaborate with local universities and institutions to identify and establish research partnerships and innovative solutions.
• Maintain regular communication with research leadership, provide quarterly updates, conduct stakeholder engagement, and pitch ideas under the Bosch Innovation Framework.

Qualifications and Skills

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related disciplines with research focus on AI methodologies.
• Strong expertise in AI and machine learning applications for time-series data, including signal processing, system identification, control systems, and model development (e.g., deep learning, transformers, forecasting) for tasks such as anomaly detection and environmental modeling.
• Track record of publications in premier AI conferences or journals.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI and Large Language Models to expedite research activities like literature review, code generation, data evaluation, and documentation.
• Proven ability to lead AI solution development from ideation to deployment and real-world validation.
• Knowledge of current trends in AI industrial applications.
• Innovative mindset, entrepreneurial drive, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with adaptability in fast-paced settings.
