Role overview
The College of Design and Engineering at the National University of Singapore is seeking a Research Fellow in Transportation within the Civil and Environmental Engineering unit. The position is based at Kent Ridge Campus and falls under the Research Staff category. The posting start date is 01/07/2026.
Research focus
The appointee will contribute to advanced work in transportation systems, with emphasis on traffic operations, traffic control, simulation, and connected and automated vehicles (CAVs). The role is centered on leading strong research in intelligent transportation systems.

A doctoral qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another closely related discipline is required. The university is looking for someone with prior research experience in intelligent transportation systems and a strong record of publications.
Preferred capabilities
Strong programming and analytical ability is important. Experience or deeper knowledge in control theory, optimization, game theory, and AI will be viewed favorably. The role also calls for effective technical writing, presentation skills, sound planning and organization, attention to deadlines, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary research team.
