Job description

Role overview

This position is designed to help widen involvement in clinical trials, with a particular focus on communities that are currently less represented. You will work alongside the research delivery team to shape and run a focused nine-month campaign that builds awareness, improves understanding and encourages participation in research among underserved and under-represented groups.

The post is a new cross-functional role that connects the research and communications functions. Its purpose is to create engaging, content-led storytelling and outreach activity that strengthens the visibility and influence of research across Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and within the communities it serves.

Main focus of the role

A key part of the job is partnering with the Participant Inclusion & Research Engagement Lead to plan and deliver a nine-month community outreach initiative aimed at increasing awareness, comprehension and participation in mental health research among under-served and under-represented communities.

About the Trust

The organisation supports people of all ages and is committed to delivering high-quality care at the right time and as close to home as possible, helping people recover and remain well.

The Trust is recognised as one of the top 10 mental health, learning disability and community trusts to work for nationwide. It promotes an inclusive and supportive working culture, with staff networks, flexible working, free parking, and strong health and wellbeing support. There are also many opportunities for professional growth and progression.

Location and lifestyle

Surrey offers a highly attractive setting, located around 30 minutes from Central London and the South Coast. The county combines historic market towns, lively districts and beautiful countryside, with strong road and rail connections across the UK. Gatwick and Heathrow airports are also nearby for international travel.

Important notes

The Trust may close the vacancy as soon as enough suitable applications have been received. Due to UK Home Office requirements, sponsorship cannot be guaranteed for all roles. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the position.
