Research Assistant Professor - Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Mechanical Engineering

Position Overview

Texas A&M University at Qatar's Mechanical Engineering Program seeks a full-time Research Assistant Professor specializing in robotics and autonomous systems. This non-tenure research-track role focuses on emerging technologies including industrial robotics, intelligent autonomous systems, advanced sensor and actuation technologies, mechatronics, human-machine interaction, and AI applications in robotics. The appointment is for nine months, starting Spring or Fall 2024, with a startup package covering summer salary for three years and opportunities for externally funded salary beyond that.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, build an independent research agenda, and engage in academic scholarship and service within the university and the field.
