Job description

Role Overview

This remote Research Assistant position supports a research and public health effort focused on population, family, and reproductive health. The work contributes to projects that benefit the Navajo Nation community and includes close collaboration with a team of researchers and stakeholders.

Key Duties

  • Carry out in-depth semi-structured interviews with stakeholders such as WIC personnel and tribal leaders.
  • Organize and maintain qualitative data, including supporting the coding and analysis workflow.
  • Build data collection tools and help clean datasets to improve accuracy.
  • Help prepare reports and manuscripts for publication based on study findings.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to review progress and plan next steps.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • Equivalent experience or education may be considered according to the employer's substitution formula.
  • You should have basic analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with data handling and analysis methods is needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are important.

Preferred Background

  • Prior research experience in rural reservation communities is a plus.
  • Understanding of Navajo culture, traditions, and language will help you stand out.
