Research Assistant in Major Trauma Psychology

Overview

This role offers a unique chance to participate in a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded project dedicated to developing a concise psychological treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) targeting adults who have sustained serious injuries. The intervention is administered within the outpatient psychology service at King’s College Hospital (KCH) Major Trauma Centre (MTC), a specialist multidisciplinary center for patients suffering severe and complex physical trauma.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in both clinical and research environments, including facilitating co-design workshops with advisors possessing lived experience.
• Conduct participant mental health screenings, triage, and oversee the process of obtaining informed consent.
• Collect questionnaire data, manage research databases securely and accurately, and perform qualitative interviews.
• Support data analysis, assist with disseminating research findings, and contribute to study coordination activities such as organizing meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining comprehensive study records.
