Role overview
The Research and Development Engineer will partner closely with commercial teams and internal stakeholders to create, validate, and improve modified plastics solutions. The focus will be on customer requirements, product performance, manufacturability, cost, and compliance for applications in automotive, appliances, and electrical/electronic sectors.
Key responsibilities
This position involves turning customer needs into practical material solutions, running technical evaluations, and supporting the move from development into production.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to interpret customer requirements, suggest suitable modified plastics concepts, and assist with early-stage project assessment.
- Develop, refine, and optimize modified plastic formulations for automotive, appliance, and E&E applications while balancing performance, processing behavior, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform material testing, product performance checks, and root-cause analysis to confirm that solutions meet customer specifications.
- Support mold trials, solve technical issues, and contribute to continuous improvements so products can be commercialized smoothly and produced consistently at scale.
- Work across production, quality, and supply chain teams, as well as external partners, to keep communication effective and ensure timely delivery.
