About the Role

The Geneva Human Rights Platform is looking for a meticulous and analytical Research Analyst / Research Assistant. This part-time, onsite position involves supporting various research activities including data gathering, comprehensive analysis, and preparation of insightful reports. The role centers on collecting both qualitative and quantitative information, detecting trends, and generating actionable insights that assist strategic planning and decision-making efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out primary and secondary research through dependable sources and established methodologies.
  • Gather, organize, validate, and examine diverse datasets and information types.
  • Conduct literature reviews, analyze markets and industries, and carry out competitor assessments.
  • Develop comprehensive research reports, visual presentations, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Identify significant trends and patterns drawn from extensive research findings.
  • Maintain and update databases, documentation, and repositories to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in designing surveys and questionnaires and facilitate interviews and other research activities.
  • Analyze research results and deliver actionable recommendations aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple teams on research projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Present research outcomes through various visual aids such as charts and graphs, complemented by concise written reports.
  • Ensure compliance with established research standards regarding methodologies and data quality.
  • Support project documentation, proposal preparation, and analytical deliverables.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, new developments, and pertinent literature.
  • Promote enhancements in research processes to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality and professional integrity.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, Social Sciences, Data Analytics, Psychology, Computer Science, or related areas.
  • Solid knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Expertise in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and general data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Experience or familiarity with survey platforms, statistical software, business intelligence, and data visualization tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent research organization and adept time management.
  • Attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy and quality in research tasks.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills to clearly disseminate complex information.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Collaborative mindset with interpersonal skills suited for cross-functional teamwork.
