Their expertise combines grant consulting, strategic advisory, and government relations to secure transformative funding aligned with clients' objectives, positively impacting organizations and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and track federal and foundation grant opportunities matching client priorities.
  • Engage with Program Officers at relevant agencies and foundations.
  • Prepare clear written summaries regarding identified grant opportunities.
  • Analyze characteristics of successful grant recipients to enhance client competitiveness.
  • Investigate institutions’ funding goals, programs, and plans to match prospects.
  • Attend client meetings to capture priorities and interest areas for grant prospecting.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed deliverables under strict timelines, including federal, state, and foundation grants strategies and comprehensive analyses.
  • Summarize information for internal and client briefings and support appropriations requests.
  • Collaborate with fellow analysts to address firm-wide project needs.
  • Conduct thematic research on nonprofit sector trends, federal budgets, appropriations, and grant programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of key federal and foundation grant programs (e.g., DOJ, SAMHSA, ACF, CDC, DOL, NEH focused on K-12 education, DoED for K-12/technical colleges, USDA, and more).
  • Approach client support with a proactive, positive, and thorough mindset.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four-year degree.
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to distill complex and lengthy materials into concise summaries.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both virtual and in-person, in English.
  • Self-motivated with eagerness to learn and troubleshoot independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software.
  • Familiarity with federal or foundation grant processes is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Standard office hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday; onsite presence at least three days per week required in Washington, DC.
  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $59,000 to $63,000 plus bonus, dependent on experience.
