Job description

About Cuscal

Cuscal has spent close to 60 years helping shape Australia’s payments landscape, delivering secure and reliable solutions used by millions every day. From introducing the country’s first ATM to driving progress in fast payments, the business continues to develop new ways to move money safely and efficiently.

Role overview

The Reporting and Data Analyst sits within the People & Culture division and reports to the People Systems and Projects Manager. This position is focused on strengthening reporting, analytics, and data capability across P&C so the team and wider business can make better decisions backed by accurate insights.

Key duties

  • Create both scheduled and one-off reports, then interpret the data and communicate the findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Spot inconsistencies or gaps in data and work through practical fixes.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations that support important team and business decisions.
  • Build manager dashboards that improve visibility of key information.
  • Review, redesign, and improve reporting workflows and data processes.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen data integrity and implement improvements.
  • Develop automated reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Assess existing systems and data sources and suggest better options or integrations where needed.

Qualifications and experience

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in a Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst, or comparable position, ideally with exposure to People & Culture data. Strong HRIS and reporting capability is important, along with the ability to work with data, uncover trends, and explain results in a practical way. The role also calls for a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving ability, and clear written and verbal communication. A genuine interest in learning and building new skills is also valued.

Tools and technical skills

This role requires advanced Excel capability, with macro experience considered an advantage. You should also be confident using Power BI or a similar analytics and reporting platform, and comfortable working in MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Experience with PowerShell, Python, or scripting and automation work is desirable.

Joining Cuscal means becoming part of a collaborative, close-knit environment with opportunities to learn, grow, and build your career as the organisation expands. The company promotes internal movement, development opportunities, and flexible working arrangements.
