Renaissance Baton Rouge Steward

Overview

Renaissance Baton Rouge is seeking a dedicated full-time Steward/Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and order in their dining and kitchen areas. Responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, and drying all dishes, glassware, silverware, and other kitchen tools, ensuring they are correctly stored. The steward may also assist in keeping dining tables tidy and properly set with clean linen and utensils.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or relevant experience in hotel or hospitality environments.

Physical Demands

• Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
• Capability to handle heavy lifting occasionally up to 100 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and regularly lifting 20 pounds.
• Must be able to remain standing throughout entire shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide service with a warm and approachable attitude towards guests and coworkers.
• Consistently adhere to attendance and scheduling requirements that align with hotel needs.
• Maintain impeccable personal grooming and wear proper uniform during shifts.
• Follow all safety, health, and service standards to support smooth hotel operations.
• Manage the dishwashing station ensuring items are sorted, washed (by machine or hand), dried, and returned to appropriate places.
• Support team members during peak periods and complete assigned auxiliary cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct detailed cleaning duties such as vent cleaning, scrubbing trash containers, removing gum, cleaning chairs and ice bins, changing light bulbs, and maintaining floors and sanitation equipment.
• Comply fully with all health and safety regulations at all times.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support restaurant and hotel operations.
