Job description
About the Organization
EiFO Academy is an online after-school learning community focused on helping students reach their academic targets through individualized instruction. The academy serves learners in a range of subjects and aims to create a positive, collaborative environment where educators can make a meaningful impact.
Role Overview
The academy is hiring state-certified English Language Arts (ELA) teachers for a flexible remote, part-time contractor role. This opportunity is designed for educators who want to teach from home while supporting student success across different age groups.
Compensation and Class Setup
Pay is offered at $25-$35 for each 45-minute class and $30-$50 for each 1-hour class. Classes are taught in small groups of 4 to 6 students.
Schedule and Term Structure
The current need is for weekday afternoon and evening availability, with classes running from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm EST. Teachers share their availability, and schedules are arranged accordingly. There is no minimum hours requirement. The program follows a 12-week term structure for Fall, Winter, and Spring, with the same students and class times maintained throughout each term. Summer classes operate on a week-to-week basis.

Applicants with experience teaching younger learners, especially grades K through 4, are preferred. Experience leading small-group online classes is also considered an advantage.

- Lead interactive and effective online ELA lessons.
- Review, correct, and grade writing assignments.
- Track student performance and share helpful feedback to encourage progress.

Requirements
- Valid state teaching certification, such as K-4, 5-8, or a relevant secondary credential.
- Prior teaching experience and a genuine commitment to education.
- Comfort using computers and virtual teaching platforms.
- Ability to resolve small technical issues independently.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, along with solid organization.
- Capacity to work autonomously and manage a flexible timetable.
- Dependable internet access and a PC or Mac equipped with a webcam, microphone, and headphones.
Why This Role May Appeal to You
- Flexible work-from-home teaching schedule.
- Opportunity to positively influence students around the world.
- Supportive educator community with continued professional development.
- Consistent 12-week terms with recurring class times and student groups.
