Role overview
DASH Prime Consulting is looking for a skilled and service-oriented Remote IT Technician to deliver technical assistance, fix technology-related problems, and help keep systems running smoothly in a remote support setting. The position calls for solid technical knowledge, clear communication, and a calm, efficient approach to solving user issues.
What you'll do
- Offer remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, software tools, and connectivity-related concerns.
- Investigate and resolve issues raised by users in a prompt, professional manner.
- Set up, update, configure, and maintain operating systems, business applications, and security software.
- Handle user profiles, passwords, permissions, and access settings.
- Support email platforms, cloud services, VPN access, and other remote connection tools.
- Track system health and look for warning signs before problems escalate.
- Keep detailed records of tickets, fixes, procedures, and outcomes.
- Carry out routine upkeep, patching, backups, and security checks.
- Help promote cybersecurity awareness and follow security best practices.
- Work with internal teams and outside vendors on more complex technical problems.
Skills and qualifications
- Good working knowledge of Windows, macOS, and common workplace software.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and wireless connectivity.
- Hands-on exposure to remote support tools and help desk systems.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical matters in simple terms to non-technical users.
- Good organization and time management.
- Capability to handle several support tasks at once and set priorities effectively.
- Professional attitude, patience, and a strong customer-first mindset.
Preferred background
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Prior experience in IT support, technical support, help desk work, systems administration, or network support is an advantage.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, endpoint management tools, ticketing software, cybersecurity practices, and remote monitoring tools is helpful.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or comparable credentials are considered a plus.
