Role overview
We are hiring a meticulous Remote Data Entry Specialist to support a distributed team. This is a fully remote role with flexible hours, and you may work from any location within your region. The position focuses on keeping records accurate, handling information efficiently, and preserving data quality across different systems and digital tools.
In this role, you will help business functions run smoothly by entering, checking, and organizing information used by multiple teams. Success in the role depends on a strong eye for detail, consistent accuracy, and comfort with structured, repetitive tasks performed independently.
Data entry and record upkeep
- Input high volumes of information into internal databases, spreadsheets, and other business systems.
- Convert data from digital files and document sources into the required formats.
- Refresh existing records so they stay accurate and up to date.
- Keep digital folders and filing structures well organized for quick retrieval.
Verification and quality control
- Review entered data carefully before it is finalized.
- Spot and resolve mismatches, errors, or inconsistencies in datasets.
- Carry out regular quality checks to support database reliability.
- Make sure all records follow the required formatting and documentation standards.
Processing and reporting
- Work with customer files, inventory data, financial records, and administrative documents.
- Use spreadsheets, CRM tools, and other data entry applications to complete tasks.
- Prepare summaries or reports for management when needed.
- Maintain structured datasets that support analysis and operational reporting.
Confidentiality and compliance
- Manage sensitive information with strict confidentiality.
- Follow internal rules related to privacy and data protection.
- Store records securely and handle them in line with company policies.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while working with confidential information.
Required skills and technical setup
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute with 98% accuracy or better.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet software.
- Comfort using database systems or CRM platforms.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay productive in a remote environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
- Clear communication skills for collaborating with remote colleagues.
- Basic understanding of privacy and confidentiality best practices.
- Helpful experience with cloud-based collaboration tools.
- Reliable high-speed internet, a personal computer with a current operating system, and a quiet, organized workspace.
- Familiarity with data validation methods, keyboard shortcuts, and spreadsheet workflows.
- Experience using OCR tools, form processing software, or automated data capture systems is an added advantage.
