Job description
Position Overview
This role is focused on supporting the maintenance and structural integrity of civil assets and infrastructure. The engineer is responsible for identifying issues, troubleshooting, and applying corrective actions to enhance asset availability and uptime while adhering to company policies, safety standards, and budgetary constraints.
Primary Duties
- Perform daily civil maintenance operations in alignment with defined policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols to ensure consistency and control.
- Stay updated on the latest industry best practices and implement improvements to systems, processes, and procedures for more effective civil asset maintenance.
- Estimate maintenance work, perform cost-benefit analyses, and execute plans efficiently.
- Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks based on civil reliability team inspections, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and safety norms are met, and certify completion accordingly.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on various civil assets including concrete structures, roads, and equipment foundations to minimize downtime and boost productivity.
- Handle execution and closure of maintenance orders (PM01), maintaining scope, schedule, cost, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage shutdown maintenance activities to complete required modifications within quality, safety, and budgetary limits.
- Oversee contractor performance ensuring adherence to scope, quality, safety, and budgetary guidelines.
- Verify contractor billing and invoice accuracy reflecting work completion and compliance with set norms.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and reports via the Meridian system as per organizational policy.
- Coordinate procurement and usage of materials and reconcile costs while ensuring quality standards are upheld.
- Implement safety management related to civil assets, complying with maintenance safety, fire, and environmental policies to secure a safe work atmosphere.
- Identify and address safety, fire, and environmental hazards linked to civil maintenance operations.
- Support maintenance audits by aiding in report preparation and assist in applying audit recommendations to improve processes.
- Ensure HSEF compliance through supporting action plans promoting safe working culture.
- Monitor contractor activities for adherence to established procedures and policies.
- Ensure all mandatory trainings are completed to maintain compliance with company standards.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in civil asset maintenance is required.
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of civil maintenance procedures and applicable standards and codes.
- Knowledge of relevant materials, methods, and tools used in civil upkeep.
- Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environment, and Fire (HSEF) practices.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability in decision-making and adherence to maintenance schedules and service certification timelines.
