Job description
Role Overview
This position sits within the Select Channel business of the financial services division, where the focus is on growing distribution through a network of sales partners. The role is centered on bringing in new business partners, enabling them with the right product and platform knowledge, and driving sales growth while also strengthening long-term partner retention.
The broader business opportunity comes from India’s expanding banking, insurance, wealth management, and protection landscape. The organization aims to serve a wide customer base with trusted financial solutions under one umbrella, while building deeper penetration across market segments through scalable and standardized offerings.
The incumbent is expected to work closely with business partners so they can better identify client needs across liability and asset products and offer suitable solutions throughout the customer lifecycle.
Business Context
The financial services sector in India is growing rapidly, supported by strong banking and insurance industries. By 2028, India is expected to rank among the world’s largest private wealth markets. This creates a major opportunity to expand reach, cross-sell and upsell products, and build profitable revenue streams through tailored offerings and wellness-linked solutions.
Within an established customer base, there is significant potential to deepen relationships and increase product adoption. Success in this role depends on understanding partner and customer behavior, building engagement, and helping business partners manage relationships effectively with their clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring in new business partners on a consistent basis and support channel expansion.
- Work toward sales-volume goals by activating partners and keeping business flowing through them.
- Identify and onboard partners who already have access to relevant customer segments.
- Train partners regularly on financial products, the online platform, and key sales knowledge, involving product, research, and related teams where needed.
- Track the quality of business generated through partners and ensure a healthy mix and penetration across products.
- Help evaluate commercial value and partner performance while supporting targeted growth.
- Design incentive and reward campaigns with the required stakeholder approvals.
- Meet goals linked to active partner additions and retention, funds mobilized, products sold, and SIP persistence.
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures and manage the end-to-end process requirements for the partner group.
- Maintain both offline and online workflow discipline, including client mapping and related controls.
- Keep MIS and performance reports updated at the agreed frequency and share them with the business team.
- Support the risk function by ensuring proper documentation, KYC checks, and client profiling.
- Follow regulatory rules, internal policies, and other critical organizational compliance requirements.
- Focus on customer satisfaction initiatives, including complaint tracking, resolution within agreed timelines, and escalation handling.
- Continue self-learning and maintain required regulatory standards and certifications relevant to the role.
Requirements
- Ability to build and manage relationships with business partners.
- Comfort with sales training, partner enablement, and channel development.
- Understanding of financial products, client needs, and lifecycle-based selling.
- Strong attention to process, documentation, KYC, and compliance requirements.
- Capability to maintain MIS, sales reports, and operational tracking.
- Experience in complaint handling, customer satisfaction monitoring, and escalation management.
- Willingness to stay updated on regulatory standards and certifications.
