Job description
Overview
The Regulatory Compliance Airworthiness Specialist supports the Manager of Government Affairs (MGA) by assisting with investigations and documentation responses, including Letters of Investigation (LOI) and Violation Disposition Reports (VDR). This role also involves reviewing airworthiness manuals with a focus on Safety Assurance Initiatives (SAI), and working alongside Quality Department Managers to enhance and update manuals to ensure inclusion of SAI attributes and Essential Process Indicators (EPI). Monitoring the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) registry for new or proposed rules and analyzing their impact on airline operations is a key aspect of this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate deadlines for governmental responses concerning airworthiness issues in conjunction with the MGA.
- Manage FAA documentation requests such as log pages, Engineering Orders, flight schedules, and work orders and provide necessary information to FAA representatives.
- Oversee corrective action measures ensuring closure of LOI and VDR related corrective tasks.
- Investigate informal FAA concerns related to manuals and airline operations.
- Conduct daily reviews of the FAA registry to identify items affecting Allegiant Air's fleet operations.
- Track and consolidate FAA geographical inspections reported via M744 forms at various Allegiant stations or maintenance providers.
- Support Quality Department managers in manual revisions and corrections focusing on SAI and EPI elements.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support regulatory compliance and airworthiness.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must hold a valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
- Minimum of five years verifiable experience in Quality Assurance within a FAR Part 121 air carrier environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Possession of a valid passport and ability to obtain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Physical and Work Environment
This position requires regular ability to stand, sit, communicate, listen, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and operate computers and office equipment. The role involves lifting or moving items up to 20 pounds and working varying shifts in a 24-hour operational environment. The work environment includes moderate office noise and fluctuations in temperature and lighting, with occasional confined space requirements and potential travel.
