Role Overview

The Regulatory Affairs Program Coordinator (RN) plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare compliance efforts within the organization. Key functions include facilitating accreditation readiness, conducting compliance audits, and interpreting regulatory requirements from agencies like CMS and The Joint Commission applicable to hospital, laboratory, and ambulatory care settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with compliance initiatives such as mock surveys to prepare for accreditation processes.
  • Organize and manage self-tracers and process tracers; analyze data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Interpret and apply regulations related to healthcare standards ensuring adherence across departments.
  • Develop and provide educational materials and training regarding licensure, accreditation, and regulatory updates.
  • Contribute to the creation and revision of workflows, policies, and continuing education programs tailored for staff and management.
  • Identify compliance risks, prioritize them, and collaborate with clinical and leadership teams to mitigate these risks.
  • Carry out tracers and audits to enhance operational procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support survey activities including preparation, documentation, and follow-up tasks.
  • Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and ethical codes of conduct at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with an active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in acute care nursing, with preference for candidates having 5 years.
  • License qualifications may be compact or single state RN license; Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) considered an advantage.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, combined with abilities in data management.
