Registered Nurse - South Auckland

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of pēpi (babies), tamariki (children), and their whānau (families) within South Auckland communities. Role Summary

We have five full-time positions available: three permanent roles and two fixed-term roles. These positions require working Monday through Saturday. As a Plunket Nurse, you will assess child growth and development, conducting home visits and clinic consultations. Building strong, trust-based relationships within the community is essential as you deliver culturally appropriate and tailored support. You will work closely with a passionate team to provide nurturing care, offering whānau a safe environment to discuss parenting challenges and achievements.

Given the current cost of living struggles, it's common to encounter whānau facing considerable hardship. Your clinical duties will balance alongside ensuring pēpi are nurtured in safe, healthy homes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be resourceful and resilient with sound judgment skills to maintain excellent client care and minimize risks. A genuine passion for working with pēpi is crucial, but you will mainly engage with caregivers. Exceptional active listening and tactful questioning skills are necessary to deliver the appropriate support effectively.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Nurse.
• Possession or ability to obtain an Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Valid, full, and clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
