Role Overview
We are seeking a Registered Counsellor to deliver brief, solution-oriented therapy within a stepped care framework to diverse clients via online sessions. This permanent role requires conducting six counselling sessions daily, aiding clients in building self-management skills to improve mental health outcomes. The position offers collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, regular supervision, and clear pathways for escalation when necessary. Both full-time and part-time applicants (minimum four days weekly) are encouraged to apply, with Saturdays included as part of the workweek.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide short-term, solution-focused therapeutic interventions in line with stepped care protocols.
- Conduct six virtual counselling sessions each day.
- Support clients from varied cultural backgrounds, fostering inclusive and culturally safe environments.
- Assist individuals in developing strategies for self-regulation and mental health goal achievement.
- Coordinate with internal and external health professionals to tailor and implement personalised care plans.
- Maintain thorough and accurate case notes adhering to best practice documentation standards.
- Engage consistently in clinical supervision, training, and quality control to uphold professional standards.
Candidate Profile
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling from Australia or New Zealand.
- Hold current professional registration with NZAC.
- Have a minimum of three years experience providing one-on-one therapy for adults, including assessment and treatment planning.
- Demonstrate experience using evidence-based counselling techniques.
- Complete at least 400 hours of supervised counselling instruction and 140 hours of therapy delivery, including a minimum of 40 recorded hours during training placements.
- Exhibit a commitment to continuous improvement and quality care through evidence-based practice.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team and escalate issues appropriately.
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in complex clinical situations.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
